It’s Spring! Let it grow!

When I’m trying to figure out how things work, I turn to nature…

Think of a potted plant that just isn’t doing as well as you would like it to. It’s not flowering, and the leaves are looking a little droopy. Digging up and examining the root system will not make the plant thrive – in fact the shock of having its roots exposed will case the plant to wither further.

Rather you might move it to a sunnier – or shadier – spot, give it some plant food and make certain it receives the right amount of water.

You might even talk encouragingly to it, or re pot it into a larger space so the roots can grown and expand and create a healthy plant.

Even if the roots are gnarled and in poor soil, caring attention will make the plant thrive…

The “roots” of your challenges may in fact be well beyond your reach. The soil you were “planted in” may not have been as rich and healthy as you needed. There is significant research showing that many of our beliefs, attitudes and perceptions are actually affected by our experiences before we are born, and some even are transmitted through our DNA. Before you throw up your hands and say “What’s the point?!”, remember the plant…

Whatever the root system of any of your life experiences, the equivalents to sunshine, water and good nutrition will support positive growth…and are within your reach. You can create the conditions for your own positive growth – despite your “roots”. Encouraging words and a change of environment will enhance that support allowing your life to grow and bloom in a new direction!

  • forgive myself for believing I need to get to the root of it.
  • I give myself permission to nurture myself and create new growth.
  • I can examine the roots, or I can support new growth – I choose to support new growth.
  • I am free to nurture myself with thoughts, actions and words that support new growth.
  • Just like a plant, I thrive when I am in a supportive environment.
  • I am creating new growth by creating a supportive environment for myself – beginning with my own thoughts and inner conversations!
  • I’m grateful to myself for encouraging my growth!

It’s spring, let it grow!

Spring into More Abundance!

When the topic of money comes up, once sane people can become defensive, belligerent, uncomfortable or angry.

Wars have been fought over it, marriages ended, business partnerships dissolved, societies collapsed.

I was at a two day personal development course – it is one that I have attended regularly as a “touchstone” over the past 15 years. Each time I attend I come to new awarenesses and understandings. This time I uncovered an old belief – “I work for money”. I was kind of surprised when it popped into my awareness. It is true that I work, and I receive money. That is a reality – however, it doesn’t need to be my belief. I shifted my perception of money to “I allow money to support me”. This simple shift in the energy around my finances allows the back and forth flow, and has already begun to manifest in delightful ways.

  • forgive myself for believing that I work hard for money without it supporting me.
  • I give myself permission to be supported by my money.
  • choose to be supported positively by all the money in my life
  • I am free to be completely supported by money.
  • I felt supported by money when I _____________.
  • I am increasing the support my finances bring me, and the flow of abundance increases.
  • Big pat on the back to me for creating more supportive finances!

You know that whatever you focus on expands, and focusing on being supported expands that support! I love when I have these shifts of perceptions and I get visible evidence of how the world of energy works! I share some supportive ideas on this week’s show replay. Let’s shift your energy around money!

Just Let it Go … Easier Said than Done

I’ve been watching this once robust snowman on my street slowly dissolve as our temperatures climbed from -35C to +11C.

Soon there will be nothing remaining of the once solid snowman. Your thought patterns can be dissolved in a similar way. Trying to knock them out or push them away is like trying to move a snowman – once formed they just don’t budge all that easily. But apply some sunshine and warmer temperatures through compassionate self-talk, and like the snowman, those old patterns will dissolve…

Q. Even when I know it isn’t good for me, I hang on. Why?

A. Because your subconscious mind is wired to hang onto the decisions you’ve made.

Q. Then why won’t my subconscious mind hang onto the new, healthy, supportive decisions I make?

A. Your mind creates intricate connections and patterns. These neural pathways are created in two main ways: repetition and emotion. Old decisions simply have more repetitions, and a significant emotional charge keeping them in place. …By replaying negative emotion (worry, anger, frustration etc) attached to decisions, experiences and situations of the past you remain stuck in old patterns. By increasing the positive emotions attached to current decisions, experiences and situations, you strengthen the neural pathways on the supportive side, dissolve the old patterns, and create more positive future outcomes.

QSo how do I let things go?

A. By increasing the supportive emotions, and training your subconscious mind to do the repetitions on the “up” side…

  • forgive myself for believing I have to let go of anything. I’ve tried it and it is hard!
  • I give myself permission to dissolve non-supportive things in my life by creating positive, supportive emotions.
  • I can let go of non-supportive things or I can dissolve them by creating positive things. I choose to create supportive things.
  • I am free to create what supports me, starting with my self-talk!
  • I know what it feels like to create supportive feelings, it happens when I ….
  • I am consciously creating positive feelings, and training my subconscious mind to create supportive patterns.
  • Good for me for consciously creating supportive thoughts!

You can, and will, re-pattern whatever you choose.
